Traditional mezcal is produced by roasting agave hearts in earthen pits before crushing, fermenting, and distilling them in small batches. Across Oaxaca, many families continue methods passed from one generation to the next.
Traditions endure not because they resist change, but because each generation quietly chooses to carry them forward. Communities are built slowly—through shared meals, shared work, shared music, and the quiet rituals that bring people together.
Comunalidad is an Indigenous Oaxacan philosophy that understands community not simply as a place to live, but as a way of living together through shared work, mutual responsibility, celebration, care for the land, and that generosity creates enduring relationships.
Every celebration tells two stories: one of the day itself, and another of the generations who have celebrated before.
